Export Metering

To fully utilise meter functionality for measuring bi-directional energy flow, OpenMetrics can display import and export half-hour profiling together for analysing net energy consumption, and surplus energy for export meters.[/text-with-icon][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-rss” color=”Accent-Color”]

2.5G GSM Communications

OpenMetrics is fully compatible with Emlite, Elster and Iskraemeco GSM meters.  All meters are fully MID approved for MCS accredited feed-in-tariff metering and can be used as billing meters.  Communication is over 2.5G GPRS multi-network roaming SIM cards.[/text-with-icon][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-double-angle-up” color=”Accent-Color”]

Low and High Energy Threshold Alerts

Where a meter has measured energy the exceeds a high threshold or drops below a low threshold limit, an email is sent out to identify the meters that need attention.[/text-with-icon][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-eye-open” color=”Accent-Color”]

Manage User Access Rights

Asset managers can share meters in sub-accounts or make individual meters publicly accessible from the control panel.[/text-with-icon][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-gbp” color=”Accent-Color”]

Track Feed-in-Tariff Earnings or Expenditure

A feed-in-tariff rate can be entered for each meter to track earnings over time.  OpenMetrics can also calculate aggregated income from portfolios (groups of meters).  Alternatively an energy purchase rate can be entered for billing purposes or tracking expenditure.[/text-with-icon][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_text_separator title=”Solar Performance Monitoring” title_align=”separator_align_center”][vc_column_text]

What is PVGIS Performance Benchmarking?

PVIGS, or Photovoltaic Geographical Information Survey, is a database model of solar irradiation and light levels across Europe.  OpenMetrics uses this information to accurately predict the yield of a solar photovoltaic power plant to compare against actual meter readings.  This makes it easy to identify under-performing solar systems.

There are 2 databases to choose from, Classic PVGIS and Climate-SAF PVGIS.  Or you can manually enter a predicted total for each month of the year.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-sun” color=”Accent-Color”]

Dashboard Performance Ratio %

The performance ratio is a percentage calculated from actual meter readings over predicted energy yields.  It is the primary indicator for PVGIS benchmarking to identify systems that are under or overperforming.[/text-with-icon][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-sun” color=”Accent-Color”]

Monthly and daily performance charts

OpenMetrics can generate dynamic charts for plotting actual output with predicted yields for analysing performance of solar photovoltaic generation over time.

[/text-with-icon][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-sun” color=”Accent-Color”]

Cumulative portfolio analysis

Portfolio summary charts can aggregate predicted and actual totals for 1000’s of meters to assess the cumulative performance for groups of meters.

Monitoring Self Consumption and Export of Solar Energy Generation

With the EMC1 Twin Element meter from Em-lite, Openmetrics can show how much energy is being generated from solar photovoltaic and how much of this energy is actually being used or is being exported to the grid as surplus.[/vc_column_text][image_with_animation image_url=”4169″ alignment=”center” animation=”Fade In” img_link_target=”_self”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][image_with_animation image_url=”4264″ animation=”Fade In” img_link_target=”_self”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][image_with_animation image_url=”4265″ animation=”Fade In” img_link_target=”_self”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-ok-circle” color=”Accent-Color”]

Generation

Energy from solar or other source of renewable energy is measured by the twin element generation meter.[/text-with-icon][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-ok-circle” color=”Accent-Color”]

Import and Export

Energy that is purchased from the grid is measured on the along with surplus energy exported to the grid.[/text-with-icon][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-ok-circle” color=”Accent-Color”]

Generation Utilisation

By removing grid export from generation, we can monitor how much of the PV energy is actually being used.[/text-with-icon][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_text_separator title=”Tools for Asset Managers” title_align=”separator_align_center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″ animation=”none” column_padding=”no-extra-padding” background_color_opacity=”1″][image_with_animation image_url=”3824″ animation=”Fade In” img_link_target=”_self”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-file-text” color=”Accent-Color”]

Download all data to CSV file

All meter readings and half-hour data can be exported to a CSV file for further processing in Excel or for importing readings into other systems.[/text-with-icon][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-th-list” color=”Accent-Color”]

Group meters into portfolio for easier management

Meters can be grouped together into portfolios to make it easier to manage large numbers of systems.  Portfolios can also run PVGIS and cumulative calculations for the selected meters.[/text-with-icon][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-map-marker” color=”Accent-Color”]

Locate meters on map using the Map feature

Using the postcode or longitude/latitude entered for each meter makes it easy to manage meters based on the geographic location.[/text-with-icon][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_text_separator title=”Meter Logbook” title_align=”separator_align_center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-film” color=”Accent-Color”]

Store images and PDF documents

Attach images and files to a meter for convenient storage of useful information, such as instruction manuals, installation images and schematics.[/text-with-icon][text-with-icon icon_type=”font_icon” icon=”icon-list-ol” color=”Accent-Color”]

Log status messages for meters

Attach messages for conveniently logging actions and other notices for easier asset management.  Each message can be given an urgency level; urgent, normal and low.
