METER READING SERVICES

At Decmetrics we provide remote automatic meter reading services.  Using the latest generation smart meters readings are collected over the GSM or Wi-Fi networks.  Our clients range from large scale asset managers like energy suppliers to small independent solar installers.  Readings are taken typically once a day for GSM meters or every few minutes for Wi-Fi enabled meters.  Find out more about our range of services below.

Manage Smart Meters from Online Web Portal

The online web portal is for large scale asset managers to manage readings collected automatically from smart meters.  Meter readings are sent over the GPRS mobile phone network to the Openmetrics head end system daily.  From the web portal users can see which meters are online and easily identify where systems that have gone offline or raised an issue.  Automated alerts are triggered in the event of a meter going offline or where energy exceeds or falls below a set threshold.  There are numerous tools for displaying data, performing ad hoc meter reads, and scheduling automated CSV exports to FTP or email.

Measuring Solar Energy Performance

Using powerful benchmarking tools for solar generation meters allows  users to keep track of long term solar performance.  When a meter goes offline or stops registering energy generation alerts are sent.  This helps owners minimise lost income from offline solar power plants.

Measuring the electricity you export

The latest generation smart meters measure energy in both energy flow directions, forward and reverse.  This enables them to be used for monitoring import and export to the grid when installed as a main incomer meter to a building.  Export meters are commonly used where large solar systems are installed to monitor surplus energy flowing to the grid.  Both three phase and single phase have this capability although designated export meters are more commonly used.
