Measuring two outputs with the dual element Emlite meter

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Using the twin element meter from Emlite it is possible to measure 2 outputs from only a single input to the meter.  This is achieved by the meter’s dual independent terminals L1 and L2 that each have their own meter reading.  The EMC1 twin element meter is like have two meters in one unit.

[/vc_column_text][image_with_animation image_url=”4671″ animation=”Fade In” img_link_target=”_self”][vc_column_text]This is useful where you have 2 circuits within a building that to be monitored separately.   Such as for remotely monitoring energy consumption from each circuit, or where billing sub-lettings.

Previously the only way of doing this is to install 2 separate meters for each property which makes the solution considerably more expensive.  Not just because you need two extra meters but also because with the EMC1 twin element GPRS meter you only require a single meter reading contract which keeps running costs to a minimum for the monitoring service on Openmetrics.

The display on the meter also clearly shows the total meter reading for Element A and Element B import to make it easy to find energy consumption each circuit.

With the Openmetrics web portal you can analyse energy consumption from both outputs as if there were two separate meters.  Openmetrics creates 2 virtual meters from each data set.  One for element A and one for Element B.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The Emlite EMC1.w twin element smart meter can be purchased from our online store here.
